Discipleship Working

Mark and Andrea Michaels work in Edinburgh, Scotland with the Greater Europe Mission (GEM).  Through this organization, Tomoka Christian Church supports the Michaels.  Here is an update TCC was recently sent:

GEM is trusting God to see rapidly reproducing discipleship movements ignited in 50 cities in the next five years.  Your partnership is fueling our efforts to reach these cities through catalytic leaders and to adequately train them.  In December we hosted a “one of a kind” discipleship multiplication conference for 250 leaders in Wheaton, IL.  The week following the training, 70 people came to faith through the implementation of the training.  As we move into 2012, we are grateful for your partnership to see Europe reached.

Hearts 4 Ukraine

Tomoka Christian Church is a supporter of Hearts 4 Ukraine.  During 2011 there were more than ten different churches who sent teams to the Ukraine for sports camps or medical missions.  The gospel was shared with thousands of children and adults.  More and more young pregnant women are receiving support for a healthy pregnancy.  In 2012 they hope to expand their ministry and the local churches are considering the construction of a crisis pregnancy center.

Please pray for the people in Odessa and the Ukraine.

Seeing Results

On their website, World Help defines their organization this way:  “World Help is a faith-based humanitarian organization that serves the physical and spiritual needs of people in impoverished communities around the world.”  Vernon Brewer, president, sent a letter to Tomoka Christian Church giving an update of their missions.  Here is a portion of what he said:

Thank you for your prayers and financial support of World Help.  Each new year presents us with countless opportunities to help and serve millions of hurting people around the world.  We couldn’t begin to do this without you!

God has brought you alongside us for His purpose, and with your help, World Help has impacted nearly 9 million lives in 2011 alone!

• Millions of dollars of food, medical supplies, and life-saving provisions were disbursed around the world, especially in the famine-ravaged Horn of Africa.
• Hundreds of malnourished babies have been rescued and restored to health in Guatemala.
• New child sponsors were found for thousands of needy children
• Clean-water wells and water systems were provided in areas of greatest need
• Additional Homes and Villages of Hope were constructed for AIDS-orphaned children.
• Thousands of children and families received daily nutritious meals at our feeding centers
• Child mothers and former child soldiers have graduated from our vocational schools, providing them with job opportunities for themselves and their families
• Pastors continue to be trained and churches planted in many areas where there are no churches
• Bibles, Christian literature, and USB ports containing the Gospel have been printed, distributed, and circulated by the thousands all over the world
